Wieners On My Pizza

We have been in Sao Paulo now for 4 days.  It feels great to be in our house, even with rented furniture.  Just having a closet feels like a luxury!  I have decided to celebrate the smallest things, because something changes every day and we get one step closer to having a real home.

So far, I have only felt like relaxing, surrounding myself with quiet, and beginning to explore the city. Yesterday we discovered that there is a bakery/restaurant/pizza parlor within walking distance from our house, which is fantastic.  We had my favorite Brazilian breakfast – bread with grilled Minas cheese, fresh OJ and coffee with milk.  Decaffeinated does NOT exist here, so I’ve been forced to drink the real stuff – man the coffee here is good.

Luis and I have decided that based on our recent eating habits that as soon as we can cook (no stove yet), we are going to do a cleanse together.  I want to experiment with the program from the book, “Clean: The Revolutionary Program to Restore the Body’s Ability to Heal Itself” by Dr. Alejandro Junger.  It’s similar but different to the Quantum Cleanse, which I’ve done and written about prior, in that it allows lean animal protein and incorporates ayurvedic principles into the diet.  If you are interested in trying it too, here’s a link to the book.  The testimonials are quite fantastic:  I’ll blog about my experience.

But, since we CAN’T cook yet, last night we ordered pizza delivery, which we haven’t had access to since we moved to Michigan.  I was SO excited (celebrating small things)!  Our house in Michigan is outside ANY delivery areas, so this was a real treat.  I got to choose the flavor too, which also rarely happens.  Never mind that the pizza sucked – that their version of sausage was chopped up hot dog wieners!  My pizza seriously had sliced wieners on it – to which Luis said, “I wondered why you wanted hot dog on your pizza…”  Oh, well – it was still pizza delivery…
